At the end of May 2008, the project Shrinking Cities was staged in the framework of the first Moscow Architecture Biennial.


The exhibition at the Central House of the Artist presented a global investigation of the phenomenon, using maps, cultural studies, and a comparison of selected cases. The exhibition also focused on two post-communist cases: the regions of Halle/Leipzig, Germany and Ivanovo, Russia. Works of art and academic documentations analyzed and interpreted the development of both regions.

The exhibition showed works by Yuri Leidermann, Sergei Bratkov, Bas Princen, Andreas Siekmann, Vladimir Archipov, Clemens von Wedemeyer, Tobias Zielony, and many others.
