Part 1: Research, Science, and Politics
Thursday afternoon, Oct. 16 (public section)

The project Shrinking Cities is part of a more general trend to connect artistic production, research, and socio-political ambitions. How is knowledge production possible today – what role do art and culture play in it, and what role does research play? Why are political discourses increasingly seen in terms of culture and why are cultural projects increasingly put on a scientific basis? What must a successful and fruitful production and mediation of knowledge look like in the future, and how can societal reality be favorably influenced and molded? What are the limits?
